Terms & Conditions

The website and the platform (the “Platform”) is maintained and operated by the IET Services India Private Limited (“ISC”). These terms and conditions of use (“Terms”) along with the Privacy Policy (Which can be accessed here at _______) constitute a legally binding agreement between the user of the Platform ( as defined below) and ISC . These Terms apply to a user’s use of this Platform and does not alter or vary any other terms and conditions of any other agreement a user may have with ISC or its affiliated entities.

Part I of these Terms apply to a “User” who may be a sole proprietor, a partnership firm, a LLP, a private or public company or any other body corporate or entity and who is offering an “Internship Opportunity” via the Platform to Student Members. Such users are referred to in these Terms as the “Internship Opportunity Provider/s”

Part II of these Terms apply to a “User” who is an individual and who is a registered student member of the IET UK and who wishes to use the Platform to apply for internship opportunities posted by the Internship Opportunity Provider (“Student Member”).

1. DEFINITIONS

  • 1.1 “IET Services (India) Private Limited” or ISC means a private limited company incorporated in India having its registered office at 405 & 406, 4th Floor, West Wing, Raheja Towers, MG Road, Bangalore - 560 001. ISC is the wholly owned subsidiary of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, England and Wales which is a charitable organisation registered in the UK (“IET UK”).
  • 1.2 “Internship Opportunity” means an internship opportunity posted on the Platform by an Internship Opportunity Provider.
  • 1.3 “Internship Opportunity Provider” means a sole proprietorship or a partnership or a limited liability partnership or , a private or public company or any other body corporate and who is offering an Internship Opportunity via the Platform.
  • 1.4 “Platform” means the technology platform created and developed by the ISC to create an internship ecosystem for the Student Members. The Platform permits the Internship Opportunity Providers to post Internship Opportunities on the Platform and Student Members to view and apply for such Internship Opportunities. .
  • 1.5 “Student Member” refers to an individual who is a registered student member of the IET UK and who is permitted to use the Platform to access Internship Opportunities, upon successful registration on the Platform .

2. PART I: TERMS APPLICABLE TO INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY PROVIDERS

  • 2.1 All Internship Opportunity Providers must register on the Platform by providing the registration details required by the Platform. Registration is mandatory for the purpose of listing Internship Opportunities on the Platform. All Internship Opportunity Provider accounts are business accounts and not intended for personal use.
  • 2.2 All Internship Opportunities should be limited to the field of “engineering and technology”. ISC retains the right to remove any Internship Opportunities that are outside the field of “engineering and technology”.
  • 2.3 Once accepted, all Internship Opportunities shall be converted into contracts between the Student Member who has accepted the Internship and the Internship Opportunity Provider and Internships will be regulated by such valid contracts. ISC plays no role other than that of being a Platform service provider. ISC is in no way associated with the Internship Opportunity nor makes any claims about the Internship Opportunities and is not a party to the internship contract between a Student Member and the Internship Opportunity Provider.
  • 2.4 The Internship Opportunity Provider shall have the right upon successful registration to post Internship Opportunities for its own organization and not on behalf of any third parties. If an Internship Opportunity Provider is a third party consultant, then such posting on behalf of third party Internship Opportunities Provider can be made subject to proper verification of such opportunities being done by the third party consultants posting on the Platform.
  • 2.5 The Internship Opportunity Provider shall ensure that all information including all personal information submitted by a Student Member is protected against any unauthorized disclosure and to this extent the Internship Opportunity Provider shall have a proper privacy policy in place in compliance with the Information Technology Act 2000, all amendments thereto, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices And Procedures And Sensitive Personal Data Or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 to the extent notified.
  • 2.6 The Internship Opportunity Provider must provide accurate and complete details about their organization and about the Internship Opportunity on the Platform including but not limited to the nature and type of internship, duration of the Internship Opportunity, process of applying for the Internship, contact information of Single Point of Contact (“SPOC”), stipend (if any) that will be paid, location of the internship (onsite/ offsite). Any misinformation or omission of material information would result in ISC taking suitable action against the Internship Opportunity Providers such as blocking or restricting their access to the Platform. Any dispute or legal claim arising out of such misinformation or omission of material information would be solely the liability of the Internship Opportunity Provider and the Internship Opportunity Provider shall indemnify ISC its Affiliates, , its officers, employees and agents from any and all possible consequences of such actions including but not limited to damages, costs, penalties and attorney’s fees.
  • 2.7 The Internship Opportunity Provider acknowledges and understands that ISC may contact the SPOC over email or over WhatsApp for matters in connection with this Platform.
  • 2.8 All Internship Opportunities must be made to persons above the age of 18 years.
  • 2.9 The Internship Opportunity Provider shall not do any of the following acts via the Platform:

The following Terms shall apply to Internship Opportunity Providers:

  • Promote or post any training programs/courses and any such program where Student Members are expected to pay a security deposit or an admission fee.
  • Post any Internship for any illegal, prohibited and age-restricted activities including but not limited to consumption of alcohol/tobacco, gambling, pornography etc.
  • Use the Platform for any illegal purposes or for the promotion of any illegal activities.
  • Require the Student Member to disclose any type of personal information apart from what is required for the purpose of communication and providing the internship.
  • Process the personal information of the Student Members for any purpose other than for assessing the suitability for Internships.
  • Retain the personal information of the Student Members for any period longer than as may be necessary for the purpose for which it is collected.
  • Internship Opportunity Provider shall not charge a fee to the Student Members for allowing the Student Member s to apply for or to be given an Internship such as requiring the Student Member to pay registration fees, application fees etc.
  • Require the Student Member to perform any of the following actions as a requirement to confirm the internship
  • - Attempt to use their position to get work done for free from the Student Members disguised as a pre-selection assessment.

    - Instruct the Student Members to download or generate downloads for any application or get likes/shares/comments etc. for any social media handles only for the purpose of getting free publicity disguised as a pre-selection assessment assignment

    - Instruct the Student Members to sell/promote their products/services as part of the shortlisting/pre-selection process.

    - Submit any personal information that would not be relevant for providing the Internship such as PAN, passport, etc.

All Content shall be in compliance with applicable laws and shall not contain comments, messages, links, code, information, pictures, or other material that:

  • (a) is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, inaccurate, illegal, fraudulent, tortious, invasive of another's privacy, or includes graphic descriptions of sexual or violent content;
  • (b) victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;
  • (c) infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other proprietary right of any party;
  • (d) consists of unsolicited advertising, junk or bulk email (also known as "spam"), chain letters, any other form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling;
  • (e) contains any form of malicious code, files, or programs that are designed or intended to disrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment or otherwise causes damage, or allows you to obtain unauthorized access to any data or other information of any third party;
  • (f) breaches the security of, compromises or otherwise allows access to secured, protected or inaccessible areas of this Site, or attempts to gain access to other network or server via your account on this Site;
  • (g) impersonates any person or entity, including any of our employees or representatives.
  • 2.10 The Internship Opportunity Providers agrees that all postings or listing of Internship Opportunities (“Content”) on the Platform shall adhere to the following guidelines:

All Content shall be in compliance with applicable laws and shall not contain comments, messages, links, code, information, pictures, or other material that:

  • is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, inaccurate, illegal, fraudulent, tortious, invasive of another's privacy, or includes graphic descriptions of sexual or violent content;
  • victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;
  • infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other proprietary right of any party;
  • consists of unsolicited advertising, junk or bulk email (also known as "spam"), chain letters, any other form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling;

  • breaches the security of, compromises or otherwise allows access to secured, protected or inaccessible areas of this Site, or attempts to gain access to other network or server via your account on this Site;
  • infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other proprietary right of any party;
  • impersonates any person or entity, including any of our employees or representatives

3. PART II: TERMS APPLICABLE TO STUDENT MEMBERS

The following Terms shall apply to Student Members who wish to use the Platform to avail the Internship opportunities.

The Student Member acknowledges and fully understands that ISC is only providing the Platform and is not responsible for the Internship Opportunities posted on the Platform. ISC does not claim or confirm the appropriateness of an Internship Opportunity. ISC merely provides the Platform to enable the Student Members to access the Internship Opportunities.

The Student Member understands that the Platform does not guarantee internships and is merely a Platform to apply for internships. The Student Member also understands that Internship listings can be changed, modified or removed by an Internship Opportunity Provider at their discretion.

The Student Member understands and acknowledges that the Platform is not a job portal and the Platform provides no job opportunities to job seekers.

All Internships will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Internship Opportunity Provider and such terms will apply to the Internship Opportunities.

The Student Members acknowledges acknowledge and fully understand that any promises of a stipend made to them by the Internship Opportunity Providers would result in the Internship Opportunity Provider being solely responsible for not honoring such promises. Neither ISC nor its Affiliates will be held responsible in this regard in any way whatsoever and no such claim can be brought against ISC.

The Student Member must provide accurate and complete information at the time of applying for an Internship on the Portal. Any act of misinformation or omission of material information would result in ISC or its Affiliates taking suitable action against such Student Member including blocking or restricting the Student Member’s access to the Portal.

The Student Members must appear and communicate with the Internship Providers in a professional manner.

The Student Members understand and acknowledge that by accessing and applying for the Internships on the Platform, their personal information such as their full name, photo and contact information including mobile phone number and email address can be viewed by the Internship Opportunity Provider and the Internship Opportunity Provider.

ISC may contact the Student Member based on the contact information provided by the Student Member. ISC may contact the Student Members over instant messaging services such as WhatsApp and the Student Member consents to the same.

All disputes or issues related to Internship Opportunities shall be raised directly with the Internship Opportunity Provider/s. ISC shall not be responsible for mediating over or resolving any disputes between the users of the Platform.

The Student Members shall not use the Platform for any purpose other than for the purpose of viewing and applying for Internships.

In particular, the Student Members shall not use the Platform:

  • for any unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, inaccurate, illegal, fraudulent, tortious, invasive of another's privacy, or includes graphic descriptions of sexual or violent content;
  • for victimizing, harassment, degrading, or intimidation of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;
  • to send any malicious code, files, or programs that are designed or intended to disrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment or otherwise causes damage, or allows you to obtain unauthorized access to any data or other information of any third party;
  • to breach the security of, compromises or otherwise allows access to secured, protected or inaccessible areas of this Site, or attempts to gain access to other network or server via your account on this Site;
  • to impersonate any person or entity, including any of our employees or representatives.

4. LEGAL DISCLAIMERS

ISC is a Platform as a service provider and is considered as an “intermediary” under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

The services on the Platform are intended to be subject to availability, without any promises or guarantees on the same by ISC and while ISC does on a best efforts basis keep all information and Content on the Platform updated and accurate, ISC makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the Platform or the information, services, or related graphics contained on the Platform for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

Neither ISC nor its Affiliates are responsible for any act or omission of the Internship Opportunity Provider or the Student Member as the case may be. ISC makes no representations or warranties about the Platform or the Internship Opportunity Providers or the Student Members.

Users of the Platform understand that the Platform has information provided by its Users and the correctness of authenticity of the same is assured by the users, the users cannot hold the Platform accountable for the mistakes caused by any error in the information, be it information provided by an Internship Opportunity Provider or by a Student Member.

ISC and its Affiliates shall not be held liable or responsible for any improper, illegal use or misuse of the Platform.

The Platform is a technology platform and a user understands that ISC provides only the Platform as a service. Neither ISC nor its affiliates provide any services other than access and maintenance of the Platform. ISC may modify or discontinue the Platform at any time with or without prior intimation to the users.

ISC makes no warranties about an Internship Opportunity. Specifically, ISC does not warrant that the Internship Opportunity Provider will honor its obligation set out under any agreement, oral or written, that the Internship Opportunity Provider may enter into with the Student Member in furtherance of providing an Internship and disclaims any liability that may arise from any act or inaction by the Internship Opportunity Providers.

The Student Member acknowledges and understands that ISC is not liable or responsible for any act or omission of the Internship Opportunity Provider or any damage/ hurt/ inconvenience or inability of the Internship Opportunity Provider to honour any of its obligations in relation to the internships.

In no event will ISC or its Affiliates be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of the platform. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ISC will have no liability related to Internship Opportunity Provider Content arising under intellectual property rights, defamation, privacy, publicity, obscenity or other laws.

5. INDEMNITY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Internship Provider shall indemnify ISC, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, third-party information providers and independent contractors against any claims, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of the breach of the Internship Opportunity Provider Terms or the unauthorized use of the Portal.

The Student Member shall indemnify ISC, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, third-party information providers and independent contractors against any claims, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of the breach of the Student Member Terms or the unauthorized use of the Portal.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ISC and its AFFILIATES ASSUME NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY (I) ERRORS, MISTAKES, OR INACCURACIES OF CONTENT; (II) PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR OFFERING; (III) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF OUR SITE AND/OR ANY AND ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION STORED THEREIN; (IV) ANY INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF TRANSMISSION TO OR FROM THE OFFERING; (V) ANY BUGS, VIRUSES, TROJAN HORSES, OR THE LIKE THAT MAY BE TRANSMITTED TO OR THROUGH OUR OFFERING BY ANY THIRD PARTY; (VI) ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN ANY CONTENT OR FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE USE OF ANY CONTENT POSTED, EMAILED, TRANSMITTED, OR OTHERWISE MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE OFFERING; AND/OR (VII) USER CONTENT OR THE DEFAMATORY, OFFENSIVE, OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

All rights in the Platform belong to ISC and its Affiliates. All rights in the IET Trademarks belong to the IET UK and no user shall have the right to use any of the IET Trademarks in any manner without proper written authorization.

Internship Opportunity Providers hereby permit the ISC to display the Internship Opportunity Provider’s name and logo/ trademarks for the sole purpose of displaying internship listings and Content on the Platform.

7. TERMINATION

Notwithstanding anything contained in these Terms, ISC reserves the right, without notice and in its sole discretion, to restrict/block the User from accessing or using the Portal rendering the relationship as contemplated in these Terms to cease immediately upon such notice to User on the restriction/blocking of access to the Portal.

8. CHOICE OF LAW

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of India without giving effect to its conflict of laws provisions. These Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bangalore India.

9. SEVERABILITY AND WAIVER

If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision or portion of these Terms to be unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.

No Waiver. Any failure by us to enforce or exercise any provision of these Terms or related rights shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision

10. AMENDMENTS TO THESE TERMS OF USE

ISC reserve the right, in their discretion, to change or modify all or any part of these Terms at any time, effective immediately. The continued use of the Platform or Service constitute binding acceptance of these Terms, including any changes or modifications made by ISC as permitted above. Please be sure to review these Terms periodically to ensure familiarity with the most current version. If at any time these Terms are no longer acceptable to You, You should immediately cease all use of the Platform.

11. PLATFORM ADMINISTRATOR

ISC has the discretion to designate and appoint persons to be administrators of the Platform and such designated person may or may not be an employee of ISC..
